Container haulage faces more misery as peak season looms

EUF’s Sales Director, Lee Hack comments on the news this week that the industry is further plagued by “turmoil” and “chaos” that many fear will get worse as the peak season gears up.

Reading the article on The Loadstar, Lee says he is naturally concerned about the ongoing disruptions affecting all UK ports by problems ranging from driver shortages and rail failures to issues arising from M&A activity.

Some fowarders are seeing failures of up to 20% of the boxes they handle and advance road bookings now require up to 10 days lead time.

Lee said “It certainly has been a challenging few weeks, and the problems aren’t yet solved but we are doing our absolute best to keep customers informed and disruption to a minimum where we can.”
