Weather and wind set to cause problems

December 12, 2011

The UK is currently suffering from the effects of high winds with a number of ports and inland depots closed or operating under severely limited conditions, including the Port of Felixstowe.

The high winds are forecast to last until the end of the week with increasing wind speeds on Thursday night and Friday. This will have an impact on both import and export cargoes, and will in particular affect vessel departures from the UK and the devanning times of import containers. We will keep in touch with the shipping lines to ascertain the latest updates and will provide updates to all customers whose shipments are affected.
